priced at over $8,000.
A report from the Chinese website IT House indicates that Zhanjiang Core Energy Technology has launched the Yunguai REV-9 laptop. This laptop is equipped with an AMD EPYC processor and an RTX 4080 graphics card, making it the world’s first laptop with liquid cooling and a powerful 64-core processor, along with one of Nvidia’s top-performing graphics cards.
According to the developers, the REV-9 laptop series features the AMD EPYC 7713 processor with 64 cores, designed for cloud servers, and an RTX 4080 graphics card with 16GB of dedicated graphics memory for desktop computers. Additionally, it comes with an integrated liquid cooling system—a must-have for laptops dedicated to artificial intelligence computing.
The laptop features an aluminum body with dimensions of 420mm in width, 325mm in length, and 46mm in thickness. It boasts a large 17.3-inch screen with a 2.5K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 100% SRGB color gamut. Another version is available with a 4K resolution screen and a 120Hz refresh rate. The laptop comes with a powerful 10W speaker system and RGB LED lights on either side of the screen.
The laptop’s design and dimensions suggest that it is composed of independent components typically found in desktop computers, assembled. To stack these components inside a compact box, design modifications were made to some parts such as the power supply and graphics card by extracting the chips and placing them in smaller, lighter structures. This excludes the server-specific motherboard, as it is just a printed circuit board (PCB) with tracks and ports, featuring three Ethernet ports and three USB-A ports.
The Yunguai REV-9 laptop has not been officially released yet, but it is scheduled to launch exclusively in China on December 19. Crowdfunding for the laptop has commenced on the Taobao website, with a funding goal equivalent to approximately $70,000. There are no details available regarding the price of the Yunuai laptop, but considering the average price of the EPYC 7713 processor at $5,000, it is expected that the laptop’s price will not be less than $8,000.
